As a Graphic Designer at Iversoft you turn research, creative direction and User Experience (UX) requirements into unique, expressive, on-brand visual designs for mobile and web. Not only do they make mobile apps and websites look great, they do it such a way that impresses and delights our Clients and their customers. While your focus is on User Interfaces (UI) for mobile and web, you likely have skills in other areas such as digital marketing, print, etc.. You have an in-depth knowledge of best practices, and can learn from and adapt to the challenge, change and feedback that are inevitable in this kind of role.

With the freedom to push the limits with each design, you’ll be a key part of driving the creative output of our team’s work, collaborating closely with managers, developers, and Clients to identify potential bottlenecks or challenges, while delivering top-quality design.

Responsibilities

  • Solicit and interpret business cases, brand requirements and design preferences from Clients or project managers into user experience stories
  • Collaborate with team members to define design scope and direction on projects, based on the needs of the user
  • Draft early-stage creation direction materials like moodboards, style guides, and user research
  • Interpret the results of user research and testing into design direction
  • Draft low- and high-fidelity wireframes to showcase layout design elements and visualize user stories
  • Draft comprehensive designs to showcase colour, font, and other visual elements
  • Own the creative process from solicitation and concept through to delivery
  • Keep your knowledge of design and industry trends current
  • Design posts for a variety of social platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.
  • Liaise with marketing to ensure brand consistency across content for clients.

Requirements

  • Professional experience (freelance or otherwise) - including a recent portfolio of work - in web or mobile design
  • Advanced knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite of tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)
  • Experience with wireframing and prototyping tools like Omnigraffle, Sketch or Balsamiq
  • Working with clients through requirement gathering to produce creative briefs
  • Working knowledge of best practices on iOS, Android, and/or responsive web
  • Some experience with user experience research practices and methodologies
  • Excellent communicator across varying levels of subject matter knowledge
  • Self-starter requiring minimal supervision, but who knows when to ask for help
  • An understanding of the requirements for the different social media platforms.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience leading teams of designers and/or non-designers
  • Familiarity and experience within the WCAG accessibility compliance guidelines
  • Experience using research, data and analytics to drive design decisions
  • Experience with collaboration tools like Invision
  • Experience in interaction design - particularly on iOS, Android, Unity and/or responsive web
  • Knowledge of front-end web languages like HTML or CSS
  • Some experience with user testing practices and methodologies
  • Some knowledge of print design best practices
