Reports to:

Purpose:
Support the marketing team through designing effective marketing materials that adhere to strict brand guidelines. This role requires effective design and production skills for a wide range of marketing components including print [flyers, newspaper, brochures, direct mail, point of sale] and electronic media including email and web as well as production management experience.
General Responsibilities:
- Develop effective graphics and ad materials to support marketing initiatives.
- Follow project from concept to final approval ensuring integrity of creative concept is kept in focus throughout.
- Ensures proper sign off process-proofreads and verifies content & specs for all projects assigned.
- Ensure creative/concept transfers effectively into French language and Bilingual versions.
- Assist in sourcing stock photography, locating appropriate existing photography and help coordinate photo shoots for new photography.
- Solve creative and communicative issues based on brief.
- Work effectively with outside suppliers such as photographers and printers when required.
- Use effective time management and organizational skills to maintain effective workflow and meet deadlines.
- Stay current with the latest developments in the field of design and be familiar with industry marketing programs.

QUALIFICATIONS
Position Requirements:
- A degree in Graphic Design or an equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
- 2 or more years’ experience in graphic design in a marketing environment.
- Excellent typography skills.
- Excellent knowledge of pre-press file preparation including font management and support file links.
- Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite 6 on Mac platform, photo retouching, ftp, Google docs and apps.
- Working knowledge of html, Flash and gif animation.
- Knowledge of digital proofing systems and marketing content tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong command of the English language.
- Direct flyer and email creative and production an asset.
- During critical project timelines some overtime hours and/or assistance with production work will be required
