We're looking for an experienced front-end developer to join our team in the Gastown area full time. This is not an entry level position.

The focus of this position is front end coding, and the lion’s share of your duties will be markup, CSS, writing javascript, mobile dev, and the install/customization of open source CMS. You will work alongside other developers in a team environment. For this role we are looking for someone who also has some strength with design.

Attention to detail is crucial. We do high-end work, and it takes a lot of love to keep it tight.

Candidates with experience in a similar role will be preferred.

You gotta have these:

• PHP
• Javascript/jQuery
• CSS (CSS2 and CSS3)
• HTML/HTML5
• Experience developing for mobile devices
• Experience with WordPress and customizing plugins
• Solid problem-solving and coding skills
• Diagnose and troubleshoot client-side problems using browser-based developer tools
• LAMP Stack development experience
• Client-side and server-side technology
• Version control experience (SVN/GIT)
• Responsive web development including understanding of cross-browser/device compatibility and limitations
• Functional knowledge of web standards, usability, best practices, and responsive frameworks such as Foundation or Bootstrap
• Know your way around Photoshop and/or Illustrator
• Know your way around a Mac
• Charm, civility, and basic communication skills
• Independently manage multiple projects with minimal supervision
• Email & phone etiquette
• At least 2 years working in an agency setting or similar

Nice to have:

• SASS/LESS
• Drupal
• Javascript frameworks such as (Mootools/Dojo)
• Experience with social media api's (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram)
• Experience using text replacement technologies such as Google Fonts, Typekit and icon fonts
• Knowledge of SEO/SEM
• Knowledge of advanced tracking and optimization
