Collaborative with exceptional communication, negotiation, project management and salesmanship, you will act as the Town’s primary lead on economic development. Dealing with the public, other community and business groups, staff, ministries, and agencies of senior levels of government, you will
deliver a business attraction and retention program that promotes the Town as a premium business
location and tourism destination, as well as provides high quality jobs for our residents. Forward-thinking with innovative creativity, you will design and implement an economic development plan that integrates programs for business attraction and investment, commercial core area vitality, human services and tourism. A strong and reliable relationship builder, you will showcase municipally owned lands, buildings, and facilities while working with landowners, developers, business, and industry leaders. Highly organized and true to your word, you will be responsible for budget administration, managing the activities of staff, supporting business entrepreneurship, and providing regular reports to the management team and Town Council.
A driven self-starter with an exceptional skill set in negotiation and delivering results, you are eager to play a vital role in shaping the future of our community. You possess a University degree, seven years’ experience of economic development at a senior level and a professional designation in economic development (Ec.D) or seven years’ experience in the private sector with relevant experience and hold an MBA or other relevant business development university degree. A strategic thinker who works well in high-pressure environments, you have an appreciation for the geographic and socio-economic characteristics of the Town of Innisfil, along with knowledge of local government, business principle, and real estate practices. You are proficient with MS Office and GIS and mapping applications, possess a valid Class “G” driver’s licence, and are available to attend evening and/or weekend meetings or other events as required.
