The Opportunity:
We’re looking for a team-oriented, service-driven Director, Marketing & Communications to join our dynamic Marketing & Communications team on a 12 month contract.
This Director role will lead and mentor the Marketing and Communications group with a focus on advancing our brand and driving measurable business results with a digital-first mindset.
The successful candidate for this role will have extensive experience in overseeing the development and execution of compelling, impactful integrated marketing and communication initiatives, go-to-market plans and corporate events.

What your day looks like:
Program/Project Management:
Ensure alignment with broader corporate goals and departmental strategies
Evaluate the results of departmental initiatives and share results with the relevant internal stakeholders
Incorporate the necessary research and analysis (customer, channel partner and competitive) to facilitate data-driven decisions
Actively collaborate with partners to ensure alignment of marketing plans to fulfill customer and market needs, to drive product adoption and ultimately influence net sales
Brand and Reputation Management:
Manages ongoing development of the corporate brand positioning and corresponding sub-brands at the business line and product level, ensuring a consistent brand experience across multiple touchpoints
Oversee the firm’s media relations program and presence at industry events
Manage the content, functionality and measurement of the firm’s public facing websites
Lead the ongoing management of the firm’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) goals, including development and implementation of new initiatives and metrics and communicating progress to both internal and external stakeholder groups
Corporate Events Management:
Manage budgets and project plans for each event
Oversee all experiential components, from researching and presenting recommendations to executive sponsors to executing on details
Oversee all vendor and sponsor relationships, includes negotiating contracts and ensuring deliverables are completed as planned
Effectively promote events and manage registration, ensuring registration targets are met
Direct all materials development, including online, print, and presentation materials
Leadership and Management:
Manage direct reports, facilitating clear goal-setting, meaningful and timely feedback, coaching, development and career planning opportunities
Contribute positively to building a culture of employee engagement
Manage applicable department budget G/L’s, ensuring accurate reporting and forecasting
Contribute to monthly resource planning, ensuring employee and contract resources are effectively utilized to achieve goals and project deadlines
Your experience and skills:
8-10 years progressive experience in delivering integrated marketing and communications solutions in the financial services industry with a proven track record of delivering solid business results
University degree in marketing, business administration or communications
Canadian Securities Course or Financial Planning experience is an asset
Exceptional strategic planning, organizational, budget management and organizational skills
Strong customer and market orientation with expert knowledge of financial services products, investments and client segments within wealth management industry
A savvy digital marketer and communicator with a deep understanding and use of online trends, including social media as well as the proven ability to integrate new channels and strategies into the marketing and communications mix
Strong people management skills to deliver successful results – directing, motivating, clarifying, relationship building, resolving conflicts, articulating goals
Ability to negotiate effectively with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders
Extensive experience managing external vendor relationships and freelancers
