Digital Producer and Tech Support Lead

(Note: This is not a social media manager role. There is very little social media work in this role)

The Digital Producer and Tech Support Lead is the person in charge of ensuring our websites are up and running, our students and customers are having the time of their lives reading blog posts, participating in online programs and courses, and generally have an easy time using MeghanTelpner.com and CulinaryNutrition.com.

Each day you will get to interact with students and readers from all over the world via phone, chat, and email. There will be times when things may be broken and you won’t know the answer immediately, so we greatly value people who love a good challenge, have organized methods for troubleshooting, and can clearly communicate possible solutions. This role invites you to work independently and as a part of a small and extremely efficient team.

You love sourcing ways to make all things web-related run more efficiently. You have an eye for detail, a friendly disposition, thrive in busy, full days, and love working as part of a small and effective team.

You’ll Get To

• Handle basic technical support for customers/students
• Set-up and test our online products and programs
• Manage our custom LMS (and you know what an LMS is)
• Research and liaise with third party vendors and software providers/developers
• Work with a developer on website enhancements, new builds, new applications, troubleshooting etc.
• Manage updates to websites as needed
• Utilize basic HTML understanding
• Manage timelines and deliverables for online projects
• Keep up-to-date on developments, new tools and innovations for web
• Review data from google analytics, email marketing, web traffic and social media
• Participate in our global online communities, engaging with students, customers, and readers
• Oversee production and offer tech support for webinars, livestream classes and other online events
• Join team at trade shows and other live events as representative/sales for the Academy of Culinary Nutrition and/or Meghan Telpner
• Perform additional tasks, duties, and responsibilities as assigned by other team members

Your Rockstar Skills Include:

• 2+ years professional experience with a web/tech-based business
• 2+ years Wordpress experience with extreme comfort managing plugins, and basic HTML skills (no hard coding or website building!)
• Knowledge of web design best practices, including search engine optimization, image optimization and very basic HTML (no back-end coding, but minor front-end fixes and ability to read code is an asset)
• Comfort with Mailchimp (or another similar email platform) including automation campaigns and targeted emails.
• Experience with E-Commerce platforms and set-up for digital products
• Understanding of social media metrics, tracking results, Google Analytics and gleaning insights from data and reporting on findings with proposed strategy (basic understanding with enthusiasm to learn more is okay)
• Experience with content management systems
• User interaction in an online environment and social communities

Extra Special Would Be:

• You've run or had exposure to running a business or being an entrepreneur.
• Experience working for a small business.
• You live in Toronto

Our preference is to hire someone local in Toronto to join us in person, however we are open to applicants who could join us daily online during our regular working hours and be available to join us in Toronto 2-4 times per year during key launch periods and/or events.
