Job Description

Position Purpose:

We are looking for an experienced digital media expert to build and execute best-in-class Paid Search marketing programs within our company. The Digital Media Specialist will plan and deliver digital media programs with a focus on Paid Search.  In partnership with our media agencies and internal teams, this role will help with media planning and buying for The Home Depot lines of business and will be responsible for planning, optimizing and driving productivity on various media channels.  The role will also be responsible for managing a full circle of program deliverables including research, analysis, reporting and implementation.  The ideal candidate will participate in the development and implementation of all digital media and ensure plans are in line with strategy, as developed by the Marketing Planning team.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Work with media agency and integrated advertising teams on all facets of online media planning and buying and reporting

  • Work with the Manager, Digital Media & Content on the planning and implementation of annual strategic program roadmaps for Paid Search

  • Deliver insight into the implications of campaign constraints, such as scale, ramp up time, creative used and cost per conversion

  • Monitor campaign delivery and optimize performance against business goals

  • Contribute to business growth by identifying new opportunities and encourage planning and production teams to implement creative

  • Analyze data and communicates proposed plan to marketing team

  • Responsible for ensuring growth of traffic, revenue, conversion rate and revenue per visitor

  • Run test and learns that drive conversion

  • Manage media budget, provide budget control reports and handle invoicing

  • Help manage vendor relationships in conjunction with the Manager, Digital Media & Content

  • Build’s presence and contribute to online revenue target in partnership with Google and Bing.

  • Plan and execute future comparison shopping programs leveraging both the products feeds

  • Stays abreast of industry best practices, industry trends, competitive landscape and tools

  • + other duties as required

Experience/Knowledge Required:

  • Google certified (Analytics, Paid search, Double click)

  • Thorough knowledge of home improvement industry and a passion for the online digital space

  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Digital and technical savvy and ability to learn navigation of new platforms and software

  • Strong experience with Web Analytics Platforms (Omniture/Google Analytics/DoubleClick)

  • Exceptional creativity and ability to “push the envelope” in the pursuit of unrealized opportunities

  • Outstanding record of achievement, ambition and drive

  • Exceptional presentation skills

  • General understanding of HTML and JavaScript (This is not a web developer position)

  • Retail experience an asset

  • Strong attention to detail and superior organizational skills

  • Highly developed interpersonal communication skills

  • Proven self-starter

  • 2-5 years of experience within a digital marketing agency or PR agency with an emphasis in social/digital marketing (internships included)

  • Experience with handling media budgets and assessing value

  • Proactive, creative, strategic thinker with excellent problem solving skills
