Cineplex Digital Solutions, a division of Cineplex Entertainment Limited Partnership, is currently recruiting for a Designer, reporting to the Director, Creative Services. This position will be based at our Cineplex Digital Solutions (CDS) division, 137 Northfield Drive West, Waterloo, Ontario, N2L 5A6.

Cineplex Digital Solutions is the digital signage and experiential media agency of Cineplex Entertainment LP, which operates one of Canada's most modern and fully digitized motion picture theatre circuits in the world. Our reach extends from thousands of screens in retail operations and financial institutions to custom-built, iconic, interactive architectural installations in shopping malls, office complexes, and other public spaces. We engineer and install the latest digital signage systems, develop and program engaging content, operate turnkey networks for our clients, and handle media sales for client-owned channels. Cineplex Digital Solutions (CDS) is the leader in digital signage networks and entertainment in Canada.

You will be a key member of the CDS team working closely with our Art Director developing creative designs for digital experiences in the retail, architectural and mall environments. You will use your conceptual abilities to ‘think in motion’ bringing life and vitality to our projects and should possess the skills to storyboard fresh ideas that will appeal to a variety of audiences. Since you will be at the heart of the creative process, a good appreciation for conceptual thinking and sophisticated typography are key. You have a thirst for all kinds of design, recognize trends and have a variety of interests outside of design that help foster original and intelligent ideas.

Requirements:

• Experience working with CSS with strong skills in Photoshop and Illustrator

• An intermediate level experience with respect to UI design, After Effects or Cinema 4D is an asset

• A diploma or equivalent in design with minimum 3 years’ experience designing in the industry

• You understand the technical possibilities in digital production and have a keen eye for detail

• Conceptual ability to ‘think in motion’ and convey your ideas in storyboard format

• You enjoy working in a team environment and contributing to the team's ideas

• You’re passionate about current trends and developments

• Interests in fashion, architecture, generative art and experiential content an asset
