Creative Strategist/Event Designer full-time

We are designers, curators, producers, content creators, masters of logistics and experts at creating and cultivating sponsorship. We architect social and creative environments that inspire and enlighten both clients and attendees.
We are growing and are searching for our next creative guru to come up with new and unique concepts for our events and conferences. This is much more than an event planner role as the ideal candidate will create and guide the overarching design strategy for events and event elements (think big picture design). You are an out of the box thinker who exceeds expectations and thrives to design something that clients have never seen before.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The main duties of this role include, but are not limited to:
- Conceptualize and design overall creative direction, strategy, and elements for large scale events and conferences
- Create cutting-edge, innovative, and engaging events and social experiences for conference and event attendees
- Manage day-to-day operations and tactical aspects of assigned portfolio
- Research, source and direct creative and logistical elements as needed for events
- Seek out and work with various stakeholders to ensure all event requirements are accounted for
- Event and venue research
- Stay updated on creative event trends and issues
- Develop critical paths for various elements
- Coordinate with internal teams for layout, signage, and logistics purposes
- Inspect venue to ensure all details are communicated clearly and all agreements are met
- Negotiate supplier rates
- Work with local authorities to obtain required licenses, permits and insurance
- Create event floor plans
- Maintain various internal planning documents
- Contact and work with potential conference/event partners
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Detail oriented and highly organized
- Ability to prioritize duties and adapt to shifting priorities
- Strong communicator (verbal and written)
- Ability to work well in high-pressure situations
- Team player with the ability to work independently
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Strong budget management skills
- Big picture thinker who can manage an ever-evolving portfolio of events
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- 5+ years of experience in Event Design or Marketing Design
- Significant experience in developing creative concepts for events/marketing
- Must have experience designing floor plans
- Interior design experience is an asset
