Destination Think! is seeking a Client Strategist with exceptional strategic thinking, creative genius, superb communication, a positive customer service attitude and a solid track record of developing client accounts to achieve business goals.

Destination Think! is an international consultancy and marketing agency that works exclusively with the destination marketing industry. The Client Strategist role is a blend of account management, strategic planning and project management. This person is the key contact for multiple client accounts and a vital source of inspiration for clients and co-workers. The role requires the ability to manage competing priorities. It also requires a love of travel that drives your creativity to promote some of the top tourism experiences in the world. Your account management responsibilities are:

  • Manage multiple projects with multiple clients at the same time.
  • Maintain positive relationships with clients.
  • Grow and develop assigned client accounts to achieve revenue goals.
  • Lead assigned client teams and ensure projects are delivered to meet objectives.
  • Be the primary contact for a client.
  • Develop project proposals, including budget and implementation plan.
  • Support development of bids submitted for RFPs, both written responses and in-person presentations and interviews.

Your strategic responsibilities are:

  • Conduct and deliver client audits.
  • Develop clients’ marketing strategies in collaboration with our Senior Strategic Consultants.
  • Create and present big ideas, campaign strategies and tactical plans that deliver on a client’s marketing objectives.
  • Provide clients with strategic advice on an ad hoc basis.
  • Demonstrate thought leadership within the company and to external audiences.
  • Facilitate workshops and present at meetings.
  • Assure quality by signing off on deliverables throughout the project lifecycle, including design, development, media plans, content plans, etc.
  • Participate in project teams for assigned clients and provide subject matter expertise and implementation skills, as needed.

Your project management responsibilities are:

  • Manage project teams composed of internal staff and contractors.
  • Run/attend client meetings.
  • Write and distribute relevant client and project documentation, including contracts, proposals, statements of work, project plans, agendas, minutes and reports.
  • Oversee budgets, initiating billing and tracking invoicing and payments.
  • Maintain accurate and timely resourcing requirements and scheduling across assigned projects.
  • Ensure time tracking is recorded for all project team members.
  • Keep clients updated at all stages of the project lifecycle.

Your profile:

  • At least FIVE YEARS experience working in a similar role at a marketing agency
  • Clear communicator with a confident and pleasant presence
  • Conscientious, self-driven work ethic
  • Excellent math skills
  • Well rounded understanding of modern marketing, including content marketing, social media marketing, and ad strategy and management
  • Ability to act without hesitation to keep projects moving and on target
  • Strategic thinker and tactical planner
  • Comfortable translating complex ideas and concepts into simple language
  • Experienced in creating and planning effective campaigns and integrated marketing program across multiple communication channels
  • Knowledgeable in developing and managing project plans, budgeting and invoicing
  • Understanding of the tourism industry

This job is based in Vancouver, British Columbia. Preference will be given to applicants who either live in or are moving to Vancouver.
