Job Title:

Chief Creative Officer, North America

Job Summary:

As North America Chief Creative Officer (CCO) at SapientNitro, you will develop the overall creative leadership and vision for North America, and increase SapientNitro's visibility and credibility as an outstanding creative partner for clients. As a key strategic visionary in regard to the overall creative product, setting the bar high,  you will assure creative excellence among the senior creative team. You’ll push our creative talent to continually identify and take advantage of emerging creative opportunities, and you’ll play a strong leadership role in business development, senior client relationships, and agency management relationships.

You’ll translate a higher creative standard, regardless of media, into performance of individual teams, resulting in increasingly great work (be it websites, banners, digital kiosks, mobile apps, social media,  TV or print). You will lead our team of (Executive) Creative Directors, partnering with agency senior managers, providing direction for concepting and executing client communications that continually push boundaries.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Set professional standards and elevate creative bar by providing inspiration and expertise to the creative leaders within the organization
  • Responsible for all creative aspects of the brand look and feel as well as the development of client related creative projects
  • Provide the key strategic vision under which all North America creative work will be developed
  • Play key role as-needed in presentations to both existing and potential clients
  • Embrace accountability for the quality of all creative deliverables
  • Continually seek to raise our industry profile through public speaking, judging, teaching, blogging, etc.; represent SapientNitro as a thought leader within industry
  • Keep up with industry trends and advances in technology, design, and media as a whole
  • Work with Executive Creative Directors to develop growth plans for creative department staff; collaborate to attract, recruit and retain top talent
  • Proactively and respectfully lead, mentor, motivate creative leadership in North America
  • Manage and lead Creative Directors to improve their work and develop continuous thought leadership for their teams and clients. This includes ensuring CD's manage client expectations, effectively mentor and motivate their respective teams
  • Foster an environment of multidisciplinary collaboration and creative problem-solving. Ensuring our internal processes, training and knowledge-sharing reinforce this perspective

Experience Guidelines:

  • 17+ years experience in large-scale creative management, developing online and offline communications for national or global brands
  • Logical career progression within visual design
  • Significant experience working closely with account, media, UX, research and strategic planning teams to formulate appropriate overall strategy for a project or client
  • Internationally recognized creative award show winner
  • Acknowledged thought-leader with strong portfolio
  • A proven track record of generating outstanding creative work and inspiring the same from others
  • Ego-free leadership style proven to motivate; adept at mentoring others in developing, communicating, and selling industry-leading concepts to clients
  • Exceptional ability to understand, communicate and develop creative solutions that address specific business/marketing objectives
  • Solid understanding and appreciation for the distinction between creative expression and business objectives
  • Charismatic and compelling presenter with superb interpersonal skills
  • Effective organizational approach to performance management

Education:

  • BA or BFA required
  • Master’s Degree, MFA, or degree in Human Computer Interaction a plus
