The Calgary Parking Authority (CPA) is a committed team of customer-focused professionals who provide value and enhanced mobility for citizens of Calgary through the strategic provision of quality municipal parking facilities and services.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager of the Business Development Department, the Business Development Specialist will identify new business opportunities and market the CPA’s parking management systems and operational expertise to grow our business and enhance financial returns to The City of Calgary. Key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Generating new business leads and marketing CPA services and systems to these potential clients;

  • Building and maintaining client relationships and communicating client needs to various CPA departments, with the objective of enhancing CPA services and systems to meet client needs;

  • Developing proposals, project plans, presentations and reports, including pricing and market data analysis;

  • Negotiating effectively, identifying issues or objectives, to reach a positive outcome for both the client and CPA;

  • Managing projects in a timely and effective manner while providing excellent customer service; and,

  • Staying current with parking industry trends related to parking management and the application of technological innovation.

Qualifications

The successful applicant will possess:

  • Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or other related field;

  • A minimum of five years’ related experience, which includes experience in business development, marketing, and project management;

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, customer service skills, negotiating skills, and editing and proofreading skills;

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite;

  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence (or provincial equivalent) with no more than six demerits and no current suspensions or charges pending;

  • Proficiency with a design suite such as Adobe Creative Suite is preferred; and,

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the parking industry is preferred.
