Who You Are:

We're looking for an eagle-eyed Bilingual Editor to be part of our dynamic in-house team. You will be working in both official languages, but your attention to detail in French is particularly crucial. At Novus Health, we are constantly creating and updating our health content and marketing material. In your role as the Bilingual Editor, you will be a key member of our organization, editing and reviewing material for publication to ensure quality in both official languages. The ideal candidate would be a bilingual health enthusiast who is particular about high quality and consistent usage of both English and French. We are looking for a team player with excellent attention to detail and superior time management skills. You would be someone who can expertly adapt content style, voice, and tone for a variety of audiences. Because our content can incorporate complex medical, policy, or bureaucratic information, the ability to communicate complex topics in simple language for a wider audience is an asset, as is an awareness and understanding of the linguistic and cultural identity specific to Québec. They can multi-task, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines. The ideal candidate has a strong attention to detail, an openness to feedback and the willingness to learn and develop.

The Role:

You are a bilingual wordsmith. You have strong abilities in both English and French. You love concision and precision and parallel structure and loathe poor grammar and clunky writing and dangling modifiers. You have experience with technical fields like health care and technology. You will be writing and editing for a variety of online and offline channels. Working with the Senior Content Manager and Marketing Director, you will collaborate to publish material for health portals, mobile applications, printed articles, and other digital and traditional products. You will play a key role in keeping our marketing communications consistent and on-brand. You will be responsible for ensuring cross-company communications are flawless both in French and English as well as writing original copy and translating

Responsibilities:

Editing/Proofreading

  • Development and enforcement of our corporate style guides as applicable to our marketing materials and our consumer-facing assets
  • Proofreading material for publication by correcting errors in spelling, grammar and syntax
  • Recommending or making changes in content, style, organization and length
  • Revising documents received from our translators, as well as contributing to translation efforts from time to time
  • Edit articles, sales presentations, proposals, investor documents, product sheets, RFPs, website copy, and other documents in French and English

Copywriting

  • Your duties will include writing articles (fields of healthcare, insurance and technology, among others), print material, social media and e-newsletter copy as well as adding and adjusting copy in a range of pieces
  • Translation
  • Complete small translation tasks (English to French and vice versa)
  • Working closely with external translators, writers, compliance managers, and others on the team to get the right message
