Assistant Brand Manager

Senior Brand Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

Assist the Senior Brand Manager in the management of the brand(s) including ongoing analysis, written reports and communication, presentations and project management. Provide input to the strategic direction of the brand including the development of brand strategy and ongoing evaluation of brand strategy.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS SUMMARY:

Brand Management: Analysis

  • Demonstrate proficiency in utilizing Nielsen Markettrack, and internal data systems
  • Demonstrate proficiency in understanding P&L’s and working with the finance team
  • Prepare and present ongoing business analyses utilizing the tools and resources above
  • Provide input into the development of brand strategy and ongoing evaluation of brand strategy

Brand Management: Reports and Written Communication

  • Assist in the development of brand reviews and brand plans
  • Develop sales presentations
  • Brief various brand –related initiatives including, but not limited to, promotional programs, packaging, qualitative research, quantitative research and media
  • Provide input to the creative brief and support through the creative development process
  • Provide key internal document summaries

Brand Management: Project Management

  • Clearly communicate objectives and ongoing feedback with external agencies working on our brands
  • Manage brand initiatives with both internal stakeholders and external agencies
  • Manage initiatives in response to key regulatory issues (for example, CFIA, Mandatory Nutritional Labeling directives)
  • Support innovation concept to commercialization in conjunction with cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrate proficiency in leading and working within cross-functional teams and external agency partners

Brand Management: Presentation Skills

  • Present briefs to external agencies
  • Present brand plans to internal stakeholders and external agency partners

Administration

  • Manage the brand budget including the ongoing assessment of agency budget reconciliations and coupon redemption
  • Complete standard reporting (for example share reviews) accurately and on-time
  • Report key learnings from brand anlyses to internal stakeholders
  • Manage brand files and keep up to date

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Undergraduate degree in Business, MBA an asset
  • CPG marketing experience strongly preferred
  • Strong presentation, project management and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrate proficiency in both strategic thinking and attention to detail
  • Experience working with teams, preferably cross-functional teams
  • Candidate must be able to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines and resource needs
  • Strong initiative and ability to work independently
  • Some travel required
