Job Overview

The BSSI User Experience team works with many units from across the bank and is responsible for designing the user interface and experience for internal, employee-facing applications. Our typical engagements involve building complex systems for both sophisticated and novice users.  Our work has a direct, daily impact on the 40,000 employees who use the interfaces we develop.

You understand user-centered design methodology and principles, and have expertise in one or more related fields such as graphic design, computer programming or research design.

The team’s approach is highly collaborative. UE Leads are expected to assist colleagues on other projects, and help ensure a consistent interface across the organization. Design critique sessions, research initiatives and brainstorming sessions are integral to the operation of the team.

There is a commitment to continually improve the methodologies employed by the team, including training and development for team members. Members of the team come from a variety of backgrounds (computer science, psychology, industrial design, business, etc.), and diverse experiences and perspectives are valued. Both academic and applied approaches to user experience are employed.
