The Senior Art Director is responsible for supporting the Creative Director in monitoring and directing the creative output of an assigned team, with oversight of creative process, ensuring production schedules are being met. This position supervises the development of final project from concepts through design for the assigned team. This involves working with internal and external clients, supporting design pitches to clients, understanding client needs and ensuring these are being met.
As a Senior Art Director you will work with our Art Directors, Designers and Account Managers to develop design and communications for both print and digital media. You will have to balance deadlines and budgets while creating high caliber creative. Leadership in collaboration, teamwork and communication is expected from this position.
To be successful in this position you’ll need;
A degree or diploma in Fine Arts or equivalent, including training in visual design and management experience with several years of progressive experience within an advertising agency and a strong portfolio.
Strong working knowledge and experience in design as well as in leading creative processes.
Understanding of advertising and marketing principles (including interactive communications, media production) as well as industry best practices.
Leadership abilities, able to lead a collaborative process, effectively managing and motivating staff.
Ability to judge creative concepts and/or copy, and clearly communicate creative direction to others.
Understanding of clients and their business/industry.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Good decision making and problem solving abilities.
- 7 or more years of directly relevant work experience;
- Experience in managing designers, brands and copy writers
- Superior organizational skills;
- Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite - Mac Platform
- Experience in online or digital design
- Experience working directly with clients within constraints of budgets and timelines; and
- To be an effective communicator/teammate.
