We seek a versatile intermediate to senior sales and marketing professional to help us evolve our business model. You'll have experience in merchandising, product management, retail marketing, commercial sales and ideally some competence or exposure to e-commerce and internet marketing.
We're evolving into a modern leader in construction materials retailing. We need a key member on our sales and marketing team to help lead the charge as we evolve our business model.
In this position you must be somewhat of a jack-of-all-trades. You'll need to be an excellent communicator, and a tech-savvy self-starter with excellent computer and project management skills.
This position will be based in Whitehorse, but we anticipate a transitional period where you will work both from your current home office as well as on-location in Whitehorse. We will require the successful candidate move to Whitehorse within 12 months.
As our markets include Yukon, Northwest Territories and remote communities across Western Canada and Alaska, northern work experience is essential.

- Some experience with Wordpress, WooCommerce and HTML
- Direct marketing, email, social, SEO and Analytics skills
You will be responsible for 3 overlapping roles during our setup phase:
Role 1: Merchandising and Display Development
Your primary responsibility will be to work with the Kilrich General Manager to revise and develop our special order catalog, pricing, retail displays and kiosks for our 2015 grand opening. This position will involve getting to know our customer needs and our suppliers to setup our expanded product showcase and special order business.
Role 2: Outside Sales / Relationship Development
During the design and construction phase of our new building, you will need to reach-out to existing and prospective clients to learn more about their business and how we might align our display and special order business to better suite their needs. We anticipate that reaching out and engaging clients like this will result in new sales opportunities. We expect you to recognize these opportunities and to work with our sales team to develop these relationships and opportunities.
Role 3: Direct Marketing Program Setup
Kilrich has historically operated and grown the business by offering builder quality products at competitive prices; supported by knowledgeable staff, fast deliveries and exemplary customer service. While we intend to continue this tradition, we plan to become more proactive with our business development efforts. Rather than waiting for clients to order from us, we intend to develop three outbound sales and promotional channels:
a. Outbound sales
b. Direct marketing and advertising
c. Internet-based catalog, quoting and special orders
You will setup and scale these three programs over 5 years with the goal of driving 20-30% annual growth targets over this period.
