Job Description

A.K.A. New Media Inc. is looking for an experienced Senior Interactive Web Designer to join its progressive creative team. This position provides an opportunity to work on a wide array of creative digital projects from initial concept development through to final execution.

Please note that this is NOT a junior designer position, nor is it technical development position. A.K.A. is poised for growth and is seeking an experienced creative talent to engage, infuse and impact its team. Qualifications

Criteria:

• Education degree/certification in graphic design and/or interactive design
• Minimum 5 years professional interactive web design experience
• Strong understanding of branding, positioning and marketing
• Hands on experience in IA design, UX & UI Design, usability, typography, colour theory, HTML5, CSS
• Proven experience working on complex online properties and a mastery of mobile responsive design
• Experience working closely with development team
• Experience preparing briefs, wireframes and creative mock-ups
• Proven concept development, visualization, prototyping, and production abilities
• High degree of design sensibility demonstrated in a wide variety of work
• Strong communication skills
• Strong project management, production workflow and production experience
• Print design and production experience
• Mobile app design experience an asset

Must have a command of the following software:

• Adobe Creative Cloud

o Photoshop CC

o Illustrator CC

o InDesign CC

• Sketch 3.0 (or higher)
• BaseCamp (nice to have)

Working Knowledge of:

HTML5/CSS3, CMS systems (i.e. Kentico, Wordpress, Expression Engine, Drupal, etc.)

jQuery and Javascript would be an asset.
