New Media Production Coordinator

JOB DESCRIPTION

The BioWare Online Development Department’s New Media Production Coordinator will work under the Community manager to connect fans and BioWare employees through content pieces that he or she is responsible for producing and editing, including high quality and innovative videos; blogs; micro social media content; and podcasts. This primary responsibility has the goal to introduces, entertains, educates and engages fans of BioWare Edmonton-Montreal to the culture and values of the BioWare studio brand. They must additionally remain transparent with the studio of production schedules and program development. The successful candidate is passionate about new media production and community engagement, and will work by the goals of the Community Team and Studio leadership.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Developing and assigning story ideas
  • Managing editorial calendar and publishing schedule
  • Working with contributors to ensure timely delivery of content keeping in line with the Community Road Map/Asset Calendar
  • Identifying and attracting new contributors within the studio to participate in the program
  • Reviewing and editing content for brand voice, style, and consistency
  • Researching content strategies of competitors and making recommendations to maintain a world class asset release plan
  • Creating micro-content for social channels such as Vine, Instagram, Pinterest etc
  • Managing syndication and third-party content relationships
  • Reviewing published site for quality assurance

SKILLS:

  • Strong knowledge in Adobe Premier, AfterEffects, Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Strong knowledge in video and audio editing
  • Knowledge in 3D software a plus (KeyShot/Cinema 4D)
  • Able to shoot on location and assist in lighting setup for video
  • Familiar with working with a camera (Canon DSLR)
  • Familiar with audio recording (lavaliere/shotgun)
  • An understanding of production workflows
  • Self-motivated and proactive
  • Attention to detail, accuracy and work under tight deadlines
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with management and co-workers
  • Ability to problem solve
  • “Can do – Will do” attitude
  • Willing and able to work in Edmonton, Canada
