Position Summary

We’re looking for an energetic Junior Front End Web Developer who would be responsible for designing and implementation within our website's framework. Front end development is mainly the focus of this role but visual design skills would be an asset.

• Assist in evolution and maintenance of our consumer facing web applications - we have tens of thousands of users and customers, so your impact on user experience and driving innovation in the retail technology space will be quite large
• Constantly generate ideas to improve the web experience, functionality and business
• Create and maintain a clean user interface and a streamlined online experience
• Collaborate with management, developers and marketing in a fun and fast-paced results oriented environment
• Transform design from concept to production and deploying it
• Maintaining many different style and branding standards in accordance with the particular brand of website
• Ability to manage multiple projects at once and keep your team updated on what’s going on
• Learning new technology. We are doing things that haven’t been done in the market, sometimes that means learning applications or researching ways to solve interesting problems
• Assist our Operations team in resolving internal and external customer related problems
• We move quickly, so if you’re keen, we will introduce you to new projects and areas

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s Degree or College Diploma in Web Design,, or related field
• 1+ years experience in web design - with advanced knowledge proficiency in HTML5, CSS, Adobe
• You have a love for color, typography, UI/UX and the internet
• Experience with layout and UI design - this could come from print, magazine, editorial and web (being able to visualize how layouts can change across mobile, desktop resolutions and tablet)
• Experience working with a variety of different branding guidelines
• Bonus: Fluent in cross-browser issues
• Bonus: Interest in related design fields – a basic understanding of mobile design, responsive design, design strategy, online advertising and software development is preferred
• Able to learn quickly and easily adapt to a wide variety of challenges
• Excellent communication skills - you have a way with words & can connect easily with others
• Highly organized time management skills - you’re able to juggle multiple priorities at once
• A passion for constant improvement - always looking to do things better (both personally, as part of a team and for the company)
• A problem solver with a positive attitude and excellent relationship management skills
• You’re a self-starter, highly effective working independently and within a team
