Encana’s Communications team is looking for a contract graphic designer to help develop strategic marketing solutions. The successful candidate must have a sound understanding of brand management, collateral development, online integration, and experience working within a creative agency. Our ideal candidate is innovative and creative, enjoys working in a team environment and has the ability to create and implement effective communication solutions for a wide range of internal and external audiences.

Responsibilities

• translate business and marketing objectives into creative design solutions
• execute new design projects, while maintaining established procedures and brand standards
• develop collateral material, with a focus on integration with digital communications and other media
• prioritize and track the execution of multiple projects to meet aggressive deadlines
• ensure artwork conforms to design specifications and meets communications goals
• foster an environment of innovation and inspiration, teamwork and collaboration, within the team and across the business
• liaise with creative agencies and vendors

Qualifications

• must be legally entitled to work in Canada
• bachelor’s degree or similar experience in Design, Advertising, Marketing or Communications
• 5+ years professional experience with demonstrated success of developing and maintaining brands for corporate clients
• track record of success demonstrated by a broad portfolio of work
• excellent written and verbal communications skills
• expert knowledge of Adobe CS5 (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
• strong typographic skills

• experience with print-production processes and pre-press requirements

• strong organizational skills that ensure goals and fluctuating timelines are met
• ability to measure and evaluate outcomes
• ability to build strong relationships with key internal clients
• copy writing and copy editing skills an asset
• previous experience working with resource sector clients an asset
