The Manager, Digital Marketing drives the development and implementation of a comprehensive, cross-functional, strategy for digital campaigns, social media and other emerging interactive media opportunities. The Manager is responsible for the ideation, development, implementation and the quality of the annual digital and social media plans and projects. The Manager must possess good analytical skills, be innovative and creative, as well as be able to maintain a relationship of trust with peers, superiors, customers, internal and external communication agencies. He/she must have good experience in project management; demonstrate independence, being able to maintain a relationship of trust with peers, supervisors, internal customers and external agencies. The Manager must be able to solve complex problems and propose innovative solutions. The Manager, Digital Marketing reports to the Vice President of Marketing, Retail Banner Services.

Specific Responsibilities

Digital campaigns

  • Implements digital components of marketing communication campaigns  under the guidance of Banner or Control Brand Marketing Managers accountable for the initiatives

  • Ensures brand identity and guidelines are respected in the digital space

  • Leads the development of wireframes and user experience for all digital campaign components

  • Ensures that content is developed and deployed in optimal way for digital campaigns and social media

  • Validates accuracy, cohesiveness and legality of information contained in all communication pieces of campaign for which he is responsible

  • Keeps track of the stages of production of campaigns for which he is responsible

  • Manages and tracks approval timelines and delivery of all parts of campaign with stakeholders depending on the nature of the project (including but not limited to the manager, internal clients, agencies and external partners)

  • Provides proofreading of campaign elements and may occasionally contribute to the drafting of parts depending on the nature of the project

  • Leads the execution of monthly email campaigns

Social Media & Online Advertising

  • Oversees management of all McKesson national retail social media on behalf of Banner Marketing Managers and the Control Brand Marketing Manager

  • Monitors the on-going growth of social media and proposes new initiatives

  • Tracks social media performance and identify key issues / opportunities

  • Act as a digital advertising subject matter expert and provides guidance on all aspects of online media

  • Develop internal expertise and best practices around digital advertising.

General

  • Communicates clearly with marketing teams across all banners and other key partners on project objectives and deliverables

  • Oversees process for data collection and builds documents for presentation

  • Analyzes and organizes information for presentation purposes

  • Support the marketing team in the form of other related duties

  • Manages and coaches Web & Social Media Specialist

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • An undergraduate degree in relevant field

  • 5 to 7 years of relevant work experience, preferably with some in retail

  • Experience managing marketing communication projects in the digital space

  • Extensive knowledge of digital medium, notably internet and social media channels

  • Knowledge of relevant software and tools to the position (Ex: Google Analytics, etc)

  • Ability to function perfectly in English and in French

  • Creative, yet very methodological

  • Initiative, self-starter and entrepreneurial

  • Good communication skills and dedicated team player

  • Ability to deliver high-quality work under pressure

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Willingness to travel to Toronto four times per year
