Job Description: Reporting to a Senior Director MCM the Creative Services Manager will mainly be managing the visual design and production efforts of our graphics team across various forms of media. You will be expected to help grow & support the department by managing overall creative operations and resourcing, organizing discipline training and running the work flow processes to ensure excellence of the creative product and operational effectiveness. In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to help shape the processes and work with team members in various locations around the globe. As the company continues to evolve and grow, the Creative Services Manager will need to keep the department current with efficient internal tools, processes as well as more effective recruiting/staffing approaches. Continuous creative leadership for the design team as a whole is a must. By maintaining direct, personal contact with key players inside and outside the team, the Creative Services Manager helps the department and team run smoothly, and act proactively to meet the strategic goals. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for design, along with strong project management and communication skills. A minimum of 3 years managing a graphic design team and solid hands-on design experience at an in-house creative services department or advertising agency is a must.

Responsibilities:

  • Supports Creative Leads, Account Teams, and Delivery Management in assuring that projects are scoped and staffed effectively to balance company and Creative goals for profitability and creative excellence
  • Establish, explore, question, challenge the design, production, workflow and business processes
  • Partner with Resource Management and client services to manage and streamline staffing, utilization, and capacity planning by evaluating the available creative resources (aptitude, work-style, and workload) against creative needs. Works to find staffing solutions based on matching the right teams (and number of teams) with the right projects
  • Works with Client services and Operations management to develop staffing and capacity plans to ensure the department is positioned for success. This includes providing recommendations to the leadership team for the structure, levels, and staffing mix for the team
  • Analyzes new business opportunities with senior management team members and works to staff new business projects appropriately
  • Provides periodic evaluations of utilization and productivity, and systematically reports these results to the discipline, finance, and operations leadership; ensures data accuracy
  • Conducts utilization and forecasting reviews with leadership.
  • Work closely with all levels, including senior and executive management, managers and staff
  • Represents the creative needs to Recruiting and Human Resources
  • Runs as day-to-day point person on internal, regional, discipline initiatives
  • Provide oversight, direction and management to the graphic design team
  • Approve and assign design work
  • Enforce process in order to maintain consistency
  • Orchestrate the department's production efforts to ensure that projects are completed in a timely manner with high quality
  • Select and communicate with external vendors regarding design projects as necessary

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a comparable process management role
  • Previous hands-on design experience in-house creative services department or advertising agency
  • Proficiency in and the Adobe Creative Suite
  • A strong sense of design, layout, typography, and branding for print and web media
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and deadlines under pressure Ability to work both autonomously and in a team environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external resources Web design experience a plus
  • Experience in developing websites, microsites, interactive advertising, and content creation
  • Effective organizational approach, performance management orientation, and superb interpersonal skills
  • Ability to raise issues with others in a way that maintains trust and credibility.
  • Can work as well alone and with a team, and across disciplines
  • Strong ability to organize and work on multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Must possess the ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment. Punctuality, reliability and flexibility are required
  • The ability to successfully organize, prioritize and complete multiple projects -- planned and unplanned, with extreme attention to detail
  • Confident and clear communicator, strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to think critically, evaluate situations and engage appropriate parties at varying levels to arrive at solutions
  • Willingness to do work outside of the above responsibilities on a daily basis; a strong desire to make things happen
  • Available for international travel (up to 20%) ASSETS:
  • Knowledge of bug tracking software
  • Knowledge of document management systems
  • Experience dealing with the pharmaceutical clientele
  • Familiar with web software developing technologies
  • Strong technical aptitude
