As part of the SNC-Lavalin group of companies, SNC-Lavalin T & D designs, develops, and delivers engineering, including system planning and studies, procurement, and construction solutions for high voltage power transmission line and substation projects from our Canadian, United States and International office locations.

SNC-Lavalin T & D has an exciting full time career opportunity for an experienced Communications Specialist. Primarily based in our Calgary office and reporting to the Director of Project Services, the Communications Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing internal and external communications and communications strategy.

Additional responsibilities for the Communications Specialist include, but are not limited to:
•Producing communications that inform, engage and motivate employees and clients.
•Producing and delivering key message communications and ensuring that all publications are in alignment with overall company image.
•Ensuring company Intranet website is current, informative and engaging and available in different languages.
•Organizing, editing and distributing a monthly bi-lingual divisional newsletter.
•Assisting with the production of divisional presentations.
•Developing communication processes and procedures for the Quality Management System and ensuring consistency with the SNC-Lavalin T&D corporate policies.
•Providing assistance to all functional departments to ensure standardized communications and continuous improvements.
•Assist with the preparation of reports including recommendations for Senior Management to refine company communication strategies.
•Helping employees to understand communication culture and values.
•Provide translation services as and when required by Senior Management.

Qualifications for the positions include:
•University degree in Communications, Journalism or Business Marketing from a recognized university.
•Proficiency in the use of Adobe PageMaker / Photoshop is an asset
•Minimum of 5 years experience in a relevant position.
•Excellent communications and inter-personal skills, sound judgment and decision making skills
•Bi-Lingual (English & French) with the ability to translate both written and spoken word.
•Strong teamwork ethics.
•Attention to detail and accuracy.
•Strong organizational, prioritization and time management skills, with the ability to work within strict deadlines
•Proven decision making skills.

Strong Communications background, contributing to new communication initiatives, striving for continuous improvements and effective written work will be key to your success in this role.
