Chair, School of Marketing
Provide visionary leadership for the entire marketing lifecycle
Modern business is global in scope, innovative and entrepreneurial by necessity, and analytic by competitive need. The business community needs in its ranks a different kind of employee, and Seneca commits in its Strategic Plan to being a different kind of school with a different kind of graduate. In its Strategic Mandate Agreement, Seneca established Management and Marketing as one of its five areas of strength and Business Analytics as an area of growth.
Reporting to the Dean, Faculty of Business, the Chair will bring industry experience, academic leadership and a focus on student success to the School of Marketing, with responsibility for the development, delivery and review of all full-time marketing and operations management programs at Seneca across the certificate, diploma, advanced diploma, baccalaureate degree and graduate certificate spectrum. The marketing program portfolio is presently composed of 19 academic programs.
The School of Marketing is responsible for curriculum administration and delivery across the marketing, advertising, operations management, supply chain, business technology and business analytics academic disciplines. The Chair, School of Marketing, is expected to foster a community of scholarly activity focused on these marketing priorities. The program portfolio is growing, with a new degree presently awaiting Ministry approval and the pending launch of a cluster of new analytic-based marketing graduate certificates. The Chair will provide leadership and support to faculty and students within the School and will be expected to engage actively with industry and employers to ensure program relevance, establish applied research projects, and identify current and future employment options and opportunities for graduates.
