Job Purpose (Job Summary):
The primary focus of our Retail Sales team is to enhance gross sales and asset retention while maximizing profitability. Representing multiple investment disciplines and applying a needs-based sales approach, this team deploys financial and business strategies across the financial advisor community. Integral to our success is our commitment to help advisors build trust with and articulate their value to investors, differentiate themselves from their peers and grow their business. Retail Sales is structured into regional teams across Canada, comprised of a face-to-face sales force, an inside sales team and sales support staff. Effective communication and the ongoing development of a collaborative culture within Sales and across the INVESCO organization are key components in building valuable relationships across the financial community and achieving sales excellence. The BDM will contribute to the maximization of gross sales and asset retention by supporting and enhancing the sales efforts of the assigned Wholesaler through telephone contact with a designated group of financial advisors. This relationship oriented individual is enthusiastic, proactive and highly results-focused. Integral to success in this role is a keen interest in and an in-depth understanding of the investment industry.

Key Responsibilities / Duties:

  • Grow Sales to wholesaler and BDM designated client focus groups
  • Collaborate with the Wholesaler, through dedicated telephone activity, to support and enhance the Wholesaler’s face-to-face sales efforts and the development and maintenance of long-term relationships with financial advisors
  • Represent Invesco at client events and Invesco hosting events to further position Invesco as a premier provider of enduring solutions
  • Collaborate with the Wholesaler to execute on respective territory business plan
  • Maintain sound knowledge and understanding of: Invesco funds, current fund and market trends, and sales tools and processes
  • Collaborate with the Wholesaler to develop territory business plan
  • Actively share sales ideas with colleagues and support team initiatives
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the Business Development Associate by providing regular performance feedback and development input to the respective manager

Qualifications

Work Experience / Knowledge:

  • 3-5 years proven sales experience, with one year in a face to face sales role, OR
  • 3 plus years financial services industry experience, preferred

Skills / Other Personal Attributes Required:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows is required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Possesses excellent time management skills and healthy work-life balance
  • A proactive and committed team player

Formal Education: (minimum requirement to perform job duties)

  • Undergraduate degree is preferred

License/Registration/Certification: (minimum requirement to perform job duties)

  • CSC or EMP required (Note: If not completed at time of hire, must obtain within prescribed period of time)
  • A recognized financial planning oriented designation (CFP, CFA, CAIA, CIM), or progress toward, preferred
