We’re now hiring a highly motivated and entrepreneurial Business Development Manager to focus on developing partnerships with educational institutions, drive student adoption, and grow the Skooli user base domestically and internationally.

Position Summary:

The Business Development Manager will lead business growth as part of the talented, entrepreneurial Skooli business team! The successful candidate will be responsible for increasing the Skooli student base and driving new business through partnerships, innovation, and sales. They will work hand in hand with the marketing and operations teams to build Skooli into a world leader in online education.

Experience of targeting students in middle and high school, as well as university is essential in this role. Beneficial experience includes business development for companies involved in tutoring, international education, and/or private education. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of the decision making process for parents and students when choosing academic assistance.

Job Responsibilities

  • Drive the growth of the Skooli platform within our key target audiences

  • Identify opportunities to distribute Skooli through a variety of channels for education

  • Analyze the existing market and contribute to strategic decisions

  • Identify new partnership opportunities and develop partner strategy

  • Establish new markets to sell Skooli’s online tutoring services

  • Proactively generate and qualify new partner and client opportunities

  • Ensure exceptional levels of customer service at all times

  • Partner with marketing to generate and execute intelligent email/outreach campaigns

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a business related discipline

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

  • Creative, enthusiastic, and a quick learner

  • 3+ years of business development experience in tutoring, international business, or higher ed

  • Thrives on change and comfortable with ambiguity

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in a startup environment and business launches

  • Experience in online learning, tutoring, international education and/or higher education

  • Understanding decision making of parents, students, and school decision makers (principals, guidance counselors, school boards)

  • Familiarity working with higher education institutes

  • A genuine interest in education

  • Passionate about expanding a business
