The role of the Product Life Cycle Management (PLM) Business Analyst will reside within the IT team and interact with business users from different facets of the business. The Business Analyst will possess expertise in vertically integrated, apparel retail Product Development and Commercialization processes, as well as, an understanding of the IT organization’s systems and capabilities. They will be supporting the implementation of systems, tools and processes by capturing needs, defining and analyzing requirements, liaising between business and technical resources, and coordinating the various stages of the project. The Business Analyst must fully understand the company’s business processes, associated systems and applications, as well as the underlying data, how it interrelates, and the tools & best practise processes that are available to manage them. They will analyze existing processes & systems, provide quality scope and requirements documentation for integrations, new implementations and will proactively identify improvements to these processes, tools and systems. They will assist in the business process redesign and documentation as needed for new technology. They will contribute to package selection, prepare impact assessments, and drive high level time and scope estimates. They will be comfortable with use case and software design documents, and be able to take on other deliverables associated with initiation, planning, analysis and design work. This person will act as the conduit between IT and the Product teams. They will be familiar with all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle. They will work with IT, as well as the Production, Commercialization, Design and Development teams to clarify scope, capture and define requirements, define functional specifications, test, train and support both IT and business PLM solutions. The primary focus will be on the production department - an understanding of apparel product lifecycle management inclusive of but not limited to sourcing, commercialization, raw materials, manufacturing, quality and compliance is a requirement. They will also be required to provide application support, and testing; and will participate in future information systems projects.

Core Accountabilities:

  • Educates the IT organization on the current business process, priorities and issues;
  • Facilitates the identification and documentation of business process changes/improvements;
  • Instrumental in capturing high level business requirements and translation into detailed business requirements and actionable functional specifications;
  • Work with application developers through the development and configuration cycles to ensure systems and modification meet business needs;
  • Prepares and delivers user training and documentation for relevant processes and systems;
  • Assists with the ongoing maintenance and support of the current systems;
  • Seeks and receives feedback from users and vendors, evaluates needs and responds accordingly;
  • Where appropriate, manages assigned projects or project deliverables including requirements, process maps, functional specifications, configuration specifications, training material, issue logs and other deliverables as required.
  • Maintains applicable process documentation, including Change Management and compliance documentation as processes are continuously improved;
  • Undertakes any other related duties as required;
  • Has a firm knowledge of international apparel design, raw materials management, production, commercialization and manufacturing processes along with associated systems, data, data relationships and business processes;
  • Bachelor's degree required
