Job Summary and Mission
This job contributes to Starbucks success by assisting with the development and implementation of category initiatives and supporting the category management team in identifying, researching and developing new products and product-related marketing opportunities within a category. Models and acts in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Assists with the development of category plans. Prepares written communications such as plans, creative briefs, meeting recaps and project recommendations. May develop agendas and distribute promotion meeting minutes.
Establishes and builds working relationships with regional, business unit category teams, and cross-functional groups to create and adapt meaningful promotions for markets. Collaborates with teams to coordinate and execute advertising and promotional programs consistent with company-wide objectives.
- Identifies,researches and analyzes product and marketing data to support the development of category strategies. Prepares background analysis to support product or category manager in reviewing sales results. Prepares communications to internal and external customers, market partners and vendors on analysis and action plans.
- Leads competitive product reviews such as tastings and competitive shopping. Develops and manages tracking systems for competitive information.
- Maintains cross-functional relationships with appropriate departments to support new product development. Monitors production and delivery status with other business units.
- Manages projects for the implementation of marketing programs, products and promotions. Monitors and manages timelines. Works closely with field partners and business units to facilitate communication and ensure project integration. Responds to a variety of requests from field marketing, such as calendar promotional and product queries. Assists with business unit programs or products as appropriate.
- Manages the implementation of customer research projects, and provides logistics support. Monitors and supports the analysis of industry trends and product portfolio.
- May lead marketing activities for a specific product or business area and ensure communication of its products and programs.
May analyze marketing efforts through pre- and post-production reports.
- Participates in cross-functional leadership activities and leads cross-functional teams in implementation of projects.

Qualifications
Summary of Experience
Product development in a multi-location retail or packaged goods environment (3 years)
Project management in a cross-functional environment (2 years)
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work experience or four years US military experience in a related MOS/C.
