Alberta Education, Edmonton. Alberta Education supports the needs of Alberta students, teachers and administrators from Early Childhood Services (ECS) through Grade 12. This includes overseeing education policy and regulations, developing curriculum and education standards among other responsibilities.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Ministry of Education as an Internal Communications Consultant. This position provides an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to gain valuable experience in delivering internal communications support for the entire Department.

This position will work closely with the Executive Director of Human Resources and will report to the Senior Manager of Organization Renewal. As the sole Internal Communications Consultant for the department, this position will have tremendous latitude to design and create a strategically-oriented and integrated internal communications program tailored to meet the needs of a department undergoing transformation.

In this role, you will work with a large degree of independence and as a team member to: provide strategic and professional communications support related to Divisional and Departmental priorities, provide effective, pro-active issues management support and co-ordinate graphic design and promotional material as required.

Qualifications: A related post-secondary degree, preferably in communications or public relations, is required along with a minimum of two years related experience. Some public service and/or education sector experience is preferred. Equivalencies will be considered.
