We have openings for two advertising sales reps to join our small but dedicated staff. One rep will work full-time in our Calgary office; the other will work independently from Edmonton. We have an impeccable reputation and a growing advertiser base—advertising revenue has increased by 40% from 2009 to 2011. Each rep will be responsible for managing relationships with our existing advertisers, meeting revenue targets for each of our ten issues, and increasing the number of advertisers.

The perfect candidate will have at least three years experience and a proven track record selling print advertising, ideally in magazines. You have worked with individual client advertisers and are also knowledgeable about and comfortable presenting to advertising agencies. You are university educated, intelligent, thoughtful and have an appreciation for and understanding of Alberta’s unique political, social, economic and cultural environment. You believe in Alberta Views as much as we do, understand our value to advertisers and are able to share this value passionately and sincerely with them.

It’s a given that you are also highly organized, have excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and solid computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook), and work effectively both independently and as part of a team. You are also comfortable following existing processes and routines, but are capable of suggesting improvements. Experience with Sequel/P2P advertising database software is a definite asset.

Remuneration is a base salary, plus commission and comprehensive health benefits.
