Account Director

Reports To: CEO

Objective of Position:

You will use your account management expertise to seek out opportunities to grow key client site revenues with both existing and new business prospects.  With your proven marketing background you will effectively create and implement strategies and tactics to maximize revenue and exceed sales quotas within this key account and build strong relationships with this client and within all departments.   You work autonomously, are self-motivated and have a successful track record of taking ownership of specific accounts, growing the business and providing strategic counsel and direction, with select project management responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepares timely proposals, quotes and solutioning for new offerings to existing global client
  • Understands and is able to work with global clients and meet the demands of the changing global markets
  • Works to develop and implement innovative marketing campaigns to get information on new products and enhancements to key decision makers globally
  • Drives product presentations, e-learning webinars, demos for new and existing key client business
  • Ensures e-learning webinars are scheduled once a week and applies these to other property sites
  • Creates and drives revenue within a specified territory (50% Asia New Business)
  • Supports and follows up with existing and new divisions to ensure optimization of delivered products
  • Develops strategic marketing plans and devises prospects and leads for potential opportunities within key account
  • Oversees project strategic development internally, and reports success/ROI to client through its lifecycle
  • Develops timely and accurate revenue forecasts and ensures estimating is up-to-date and reflective of any changes to original scope of work
  • Maintains account and opportunity forecasting within our internal SalesForce system
  • Participates/leads discussions with client contacts to work through requirements
  • Works with and inspires support from cross functional teams
  • Develops/builds close relationships at multiple levels/departments/divisions within the existing business
  • Documents/Tracks feature/product requests for review and follow-up by management team

Qualifications and Experience:

Education normally required: College or University Degree in Marketing, B-Commerce, Computer Science, Web Design or IT Studies (preferably in Travel & Tourism, Hospitality, Web-Development) or related industry experience


  • 4+ years experience with Interactive Marketing solutions including web and CMS solutions, SEO, SEM.
  • 3+ years managing Web Development teams
  • Expertise in the technical aspects of online marketing and a passion to keep on top of the latest advances
  • Previous experience and demonstrated success in sales and/or marketing, preferably with combined account management experience on projects including aspects of:
    • database design
    • website software development
    • QA
    • technical operations
  • Understanding of Architecture design, Documentation, System Testing, Coding
  • Basic understanding of databases, Internet technologies (http(s), email, html, css)
  • Demonstrated success in a similar, client-facing role
  • Experience working with international clients across several time zones
  • Experience in Basecamp or other project collaboration web portal
