J. Walter Thompson is looking for an experienced Account Director, Digital, to work on an automotive account.

This position is based in the Toronto office.

Responsibilities

  • Primary focus on the digital channels with the ability to interpret broader business objectives and strategies for the digital space.
  • Responsible for contributing to communication strategy while overseeing the development and execution of digital, social and website related projects.
  • Ongoing responsibility to understand and leverage digital technology solutions and prepare/evaluate web analytics.
  • Oversee the communication with creative teams and internal resources to ensure that projects are running smoothly, on time and on budget.
  • Understand the clients’ business at the highest level to be a champion and help bring forth business-building communication ideas for the client.
  • Provide marketing and communications leadership to internal and client stakeholders and partners.
  • Ensure the highest quality of service and set standards for outstanding work.
  • Develop strong partnerships and working relationships with clients and other stakeholders.
  • Supervise, train, motivate and review the performance of direct reports to ensure the highest level of performance.
  • Collaboratively oversee financial management of account.
  • Collaboratively develop annual account business plans.
  • Attend industry seminars when opportunities arise and keeping abreast of industry activity and issues.
  • Performance of other duties as required.

Qualifications and Key Attributes

  • Five to seven years of agency experience.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience managing and mentoring a team.
  • Strong understanding of the digital landscape and its application to communications plan required.
  • High level digital production experience required.
  • Confident self-starter and critical thinker.
  • A master at crafting a well-articulated and supported point of view.
  • Experience/interest in automotive industry an asset.
  • A passion for advertising.
