JOB PURPOSE
- Serves as communications manager as part of the Marketing Communications team
- Key liaison to designated business units and/or projects to cultivate, develop and implement communications projects
- Undertakes other assignments related to Marketing's role as CIBC Wood Gundy's communications management unit
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Work interactively as key liaison with leaders of designated business units to produce their communications from conception to execution, as required (level of editorial/project participation will vary with relationship contact and project)

- Assist Investment Advisors with brochures, ads, client/prospect event invites, pitch books, team profiles, individual websites and other forms of marketing materials; including review and approval of editorial content for specified region(s) as assigned
- Writing and editing of internal and external communications for print and for online
- Build and maintain relationships with Business Technology, Client Reporting, Business Risk, and Client Services to ensure effective creation and implementation of marketing and communication strategies
- Manage Senior Management recognition and various marketing programs effectiveness and performance, for specific marketing initiatives
- Independently manage a number of ongoing projects of varying, primarily high, complexity
- Explore and research event details for Senior Management, aggressively gather information on potential events to achieve high, quality event productions
- Serve as liaison with vendors on event-related matters
- Coordinate appointments and visits to selected venues, and scheduling of events on Senior Managements calendar
- Participate with other members of the team to ensure that overall communications calendar is populated with high quality content produced on a timely basis according to business priorities
- Ensure all marketing materials leverage brand standards while adhering to industry and compliance regulations and standards
- Act asa resource to internal business partners to ensure all marketing collateral/communications adhere to brand standards
- Support annual client business objectives and provide strategic marketing insights for product launches
- Responsible for setting marketing objectives and key performance indicators for marketing initiatives
- Other related editorial duties as assigned

CROSS-FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Interacts on a regular basis with all levels of staff across CIBC Wood Gundy, including executives, senior management and branch throughout CIBC.
The incumbent is required to collaborate with partners when obtaining or exchanging information to meet job requirements, or when identifying, discussing and resolving business and regulatory issues related to marketing materials. These partners include Brand Governance, Marketing Communications, Business Risk & Advisory Effectiveness, Wealth Management Compliance and external vendors

-This role operates within a fast paced and deadline driven office environment. Must be able to multi task effectively in a high pressure environment.
Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in journalism, communications, Public Relations, marketing, writing or other discipline supportive of a writing role
- Canadian Securities Course (CSC) or other relevant financial services industry designation preferred; candidates may apply with relevant experience and without credential on understanding that an acceptable designation will be attained within one year of being hired
- Knowledge/experience in the financial services industry; experience in the brokerage industry a definite asset
- Superior writing, editing and proofreading skills; excellent news judgment and ability to discern industry trends as they affect CIBC Wood Gundy
- Highly organized and attentive to detail; able to multi-task independently and to manage projects as assigned
- Experience managing relationships with a high degree of tact, skill and diplomacy
- Developed project planning, management and scheduling skills sufficient to prioritize projects and meet project deadlines
- Strong communications and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and maintain professionalism; experience interacting with Senior Management
- Experience as a project leader/manager with ability to juggle multiple projects and meet challenging deadlines
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work assignments from a variety of staff and volunteers.
- Proficient using the latest versions of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and mail merges; e-mail and web searches.
