Graphic Design Coordinator full-time

Position Overview
IGNITE Student Union (IGNITE) is a non-profit organization, and the official student union representing more than 30,000 full-time students of Humber College and the University of Guelph-Humber. With offices located at the North and Lakeshore campuses, IGNITE provides student with exciting events, essential services and leadership opportunities.
We are seeking a highly organized and creative Graphic Design Coordinator to drive IGNITE’s marketing campaigns across our campuses. Reporting to the Communications Director, the Graphic Design Coordinator manages the creation and production of all IGNITE print and digital design materials to promote IGNITE events, services and advocacy initiatives across the North, Lakeshore, University of Guelph-Humber and Orangeville campuses. The Graphic Design Coordinator ensures design projects are in line with organizational objectives while adhering to IGNITE branding principles and guidelines.
Responsibilities
Design:
Project management of design, development, production and distribution of all IGNITE marketing materials, including but not limited to posters, banners, brochures, event signage, Humber TV ads, web banners and social media ads
Ensure AODA compliance of all design projects
Manage creation, design, content and advertising of annual Student Agenda
Develop and maintain in-house style guide and efficient project workflow
Organize and maintain content management system for all design projects
Design and edit graphics as required
Write and edit marketing copy as required
Communications and Administration:
Develop and maintain relationships with Humber/UofGH administration to ensure smooth campaign delivery
Liaise with external production vendors, including printers, photographers, signage companies, etc.
Maintain and update computer hardware and software used in the preparation of design
Management:
Hire, train and lead part-time Graphic Design and Posting Clerk employees for the Lakeshore Campus Communications Department
Assign tasks and monitor progress of design projects to ensure branding and deadline adherence
Manage Graphic Design and Posting Clerk employee performance through regular feedback, reward and disciplinary action as required
Qualifications
Minimum four (4) year degree in Communications/Marketing or Graphic Design degree/certificate
Minimum three (3) years experience working in Communications/Marketing with particular experience with Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
Project management certificate and/or relevant experience considered an asset
Superior ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment and coordinate multiple projects
Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communication. Strong presentation skills with the ability to advise senior management on strategic design/communication matters
Confidence and capacity to make critical decisions with minimal supervision
