Reporting to the Manager, Brand Creative (MBC) you will be responsible for developing creative from concept to completion or stages of the creative process as needed (creative, production etc.). You will work closely with the Manager, Brand Creative, account manager, clients (as applicable), copywriter and others to develop creative strategy and parameters for individual projects. You will be required to project manage tasks and to operate on a relatively independent basis.

To be well suited to the role you will possess the following qualifications and competencies:

  • A degree in Graphic Design or an equivalent combination of education and commercial work experience with a strong portfolio
  • Graphic Designers of Canada (GDC) or eligibility for the same
  • A minimum of five (5) years of recent experience in the field
  • Extensive prepress knowledge and technical knowledge of offset printing
  • Proficient administrative and project management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong client service orientation
  • A basic understanding of client business is needed to conceptualize effectively
  • The desire to be part of a synergistic team in a creative environment
  • Strong design and technical understanding of website development

This is a temporary full-time position working 37.5 hours per week until approximately November 30, 2012. The position has been evaluated at Grade 3 and the recruitment range is $41,200 to $51,500 per annum. The University is pleased to offer a percentage of salary in lieu of benefits coverage.
